The Number of Disciples Increased Rapidly

“So the word of God spread. The number of disciples .. increased rapidly…”(Acts 6:7)

As the Lord servants our mission is to plant the seed, the Word of God, in people. Since we started the Bible study sessions for Refugees women in Kfarshima, Lebanon, and the number of disciples is increasing. We started with 12 women and now they become over 60 women at one time in one room that wouldn’t fit such a number. Therefore we divided the class into two groups. These refugees women fled war, escaped the cruelty, death, and insecurity. Being in a Bible study sessions where they learn about how great Gods’ love is and how great His humbleness, and His mercy shown through the Cross, help them understand what the true God is. Also MELM shows Christian love by recognizing their needs and supports them with food packages and diapers for children.

A New Bible Study Class for Non-Christians in Zahle

“And teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…” (Matthew 28:20)

Our purpose in life as Christians and as Lord’s servants is to make disciples for Jesus and teach them to observe and obey his commandments.

We thank our Lord Jesus that He opened a new door to a new Bible study courses. This week we started the “Life of Christ” course for non- Christian Syrian refugee women in a new area in Zahle, Bikaa. MELM has been supporting these refugees with food packages for several times in which it opened the door for us to speak about Jesus and to start a Bible Study sessions with them. The women were excited about the course and they are willing to commit to it. We pray that the Lord work in their lives and hearts so they submit to Him everything.

Medical Ministry for Refugees

“… I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” (Matthew 25:36)

Helping the sick is one of our Lord Jesus recommendations; therefore, MELM helped an American medical team mission with translation from English language to Arabic and vice versa, during the medical campaign that was held for refugees in two areas, Byblos, and shouf, Lebanon.

There were internal medicine doctors, family doctors, dentists, eyes examination and glasses that fit every need, in addition to a pharmacy full of drugs and free of charge. Hundreds of refugees’ families, adults and kids, came to find solutions to their health problems. The refugees are facing infections, diseases, many other serious health problems especially among kids.

The medical mission stayed a week long and many refugees were examined and given the right medication for their health case, and some other special cases were transferred to a medical center.

Reaching Out to Syrian Refugees in North Lebanon

Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back (Matthew 6: 30)

Our Christian love has to be unconditional. We are obeying Jesus when we go search for the people who are in need and help them. MELM team hit new grounds and found where the refugee’s camps are in north Lebanon and distributed for them the food packages. MELM team showed the Muslim refugees from Syria the love of Christ.

They shared with us their difficulties and hardships, and opened their hearts to us. They were delighted and thankful for our help and support.

Reaching out to Children and Orphans

“And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.” (Matthew 18:5)

Taking care of children and speaking to them about Jesus, is one of Jesus commandments to His disciples and to us. Therefore, MELM always prepares programs for kids. MELM with the cooperation of CEF prepared a program for orphans and poor children of the area of Hadath, Lebanon. The program was full of activities in which the children learned about Jesus love and care to them. It included Christian songs, a Bible story lesson, puppet show, outside games, and food. It was a very successful program where the children were happy and thankful.

Humanitarian Package is an Expression To God’s Love

MELM visited the Kfarshima refugee’s center where we distributed to refugees food packages; and where the director spoke to them that God is Love and because of His tremendous love for us He sent His son Jesus Christ to the world to resemble us and die on the cross to pay for our sins. Now we are forgiven not because of any works or good deeds that we have done but because of God’s grace.

In our countries, Lebanon and Syria, we value blood relations and family connections but only the blood of Jesus saves us and unifies us. The love of God and the precious blood of Jesus compels us to love all people regardless of their ethnic or religious background. We are supporting you with this humanitarian package as an expression of this love and we encourage you to read the Bible and participate in the Bible study about the Life of Christ to grow in knowledge and spiritual understanding.

Reaching Out to Refugees in Sidon

“Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.” (Matthew 15:21)

Sidon, Lebanon, is one of the oldest cities in Lebanon. It was where Jesus met the Canaanite woman and healed her daughter (Matthew 15:21-28).  Sidon where Jesus said to the Canaanite woman: “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” (Matthew 15:28)

Nowadays, we believe that a lot of people would have a great faith in Jesus in Sidon if we minister to them. Therefore, MELM is doing the Lord work in Sidon through helping the people there and especially the refugees. MELM has helped previously, a school for Syrian refugees in Sidon, by granting them tables and chairs so that the refugee students can use for studying.

Recently, MELM helped fulfilling the refugee students and their families’ need by providing them food packages. The families were very thankful, and appreciated the help they got. Through good acts people see and touch that Jesus loves them and care for them. Through good acts the non-Christian would open their hearts and ears to listen to the salvation message of Christ.
