I Was Hungry and You Gave Me Something To Eat

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat …‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25: 35, 40)

It is been 3 years since the Iraqi refugees fled Iraq to Lebanon due to ISIS attack and persecutions. They left their homes empty handed running for their lives.  Thousands of Them came to Lebanon hoping to find a shelter. Most of them are very poor, have no money to afford a basic living and essential nutrition.

LHM care about the Iraqi refugees needs, therefore, by the generosity of our donors we provided the Christian Iraqis with food packages that feed their needs for few days. LHM team visited the Chaldean Iraqi center in Sabtieh, Beirut, and distributed hundreds of food packages. It is one of our Christian calls, and our privilege to obey our Lords’ order by helping our brothers and sisters who are in need.

Reaching Out Street Kids

“Because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist them.” (Job 29:12)

Home of Hope is a center in Kahale-Lebanon, supported by the government to embrace the street children and take care of their wellbeing and their education, a place called home, instead of going back to the street.

MELM prepared a special program for Easter it was an opportunity to witness to the street children once more about Jesus and the meaning of His resurrection. The program included singing Christian hymns, Bible story, and craft of an empty tomb made by a cup and  a stick hanged from inside written on it “Jesus is Risen Indeed” in which the street children learned about Jesus redemption and the eternal life He provides us when we accept His salvation.

A discussion followed the program to make sure they got the Christian message. The kids were very happy to get the Bible story “My Happy Easter Book”, and Chocolate eggs as gifts.

It was not the first time these kids hear about Jesus, but every time they hear about Him they fall in love with Him again and again and pray asking Him to be their Lord and savior.

“…devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.” (Timothy 2:13)

The MELM participated in the bookfair in Antelias, where we displayed our Christian materials and publications. Hundreds of people, religious leaders, Christians, and non-Christians the books exhibition many bought our materials to enrich their knowledge about Christianity. School students enjoyed Bible study books, our arch book bible stories and DVDs such as Puzzle Club series especially “PC Easter Adventure”.

Whoever Is Kind To The Poor Lends To The Lord

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done. (Proverbs 19: 17)

The act of kindness to the poor was shown by the generosity of our donors, who contributed to support the food packages relief program to the refugees living in Lebanon. LHM team visited camps in Bikaa valley where Syrian refugees live in tents, facing lack of nutrition, with the absence of basic needs. The refugees were very grateful for the food packages they received from LHM considering it act of kindness and care. LHM thanks all our donors who donated from the heart to help the poor and feed the hunger knowing that you lend the Lord and He will reward you for what you have done.
