Holistic Ministry to Iraqi Refugees

The Bible says : “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?  Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. (1 John 3: 17-18)

Chaldeans are Christians from Iraq whose houses were destroyed and they were dispersed from their country to Lebanon. They lost their homeland which they lived in. Many families lost dear ones and lost properties that were destroyed by ISIS. The Chaldeans used to live in abundance in their county Iraq; after dispersion they are living in poverty and are always in need. They are broken and lost their happy spirit to live. Grief and sadness engulf their lives emotions.

MELM has been there for Iraqis helping with filling their needs by distributing hundreds of food packages to them. From the suburb of Beirut they gathered to take their food packages in Sabitieh center. They were happy and grateful for what they received asking for more support because their need is immense.

Reaching Out Students With Christmas specials

The Christmas season have begun, therefore MELM, is visiting school during holidays to celebrate with the students Christmas message “a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” (Luke 2:11)

MELM visited the Nazarene school in Sin el Fil area where we showed the student the “Little Shepherd” DVD. After we discussed the message of the movie, which is the salvation through the Savior coming to the earth to save us from sins. Jesus is the greatest Gift to the human kind. The students enjoyed the program and were happy to get their gift the “Little Shepherd” storybook to take home.

Christmas Training

“So that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (Timothy 3:17)

MELM in the cooperation with CEF prepared a Christmas training program for people who work with kids. The training was given in three places so far: South, and Beirut regions of Lebanon.

The training included a full event Christmas program that the attendees can take and apply in their churches, Sunday schools, and their ministry with kids. They learned new stories, new Christmas songs, new games and new Christmas lessons. In addition it was good opportunity to introduce our MELM materials which they can use for their Christmas programs, such as “Red Boots movie”, “Little Shepherded” , “Puzzle Club Christmas Mystery  “ and “Christmas Is” and many other related stories.

The training program was very successful and all the attendees enjoyed and learned new things to serve the Lord through.
