Now is The Day of Salvation

For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation. (2Corinthians 6:2)

Street ministry is where we can meet people face to face and evangelize one to one. It is an effective ministry in which we can talk with them about Jesus and refer them to church.

Standing there on the walking street at Marina Dbayeh area, playing music and singing christian songs out loud, attracted the pedestrians, jugglers, bikers, runners and all who are enjoying the walk in the area. Some stopped and listened, and some others kept walking, but for both we took the opportunity to hand out the Bible and christian booklets after having a short conversation with them. Also we didn’t forget the kids who were happy to get christian stories to read at home. There is always happiness where God is glorified even on streets.

Starting Holistic Ministry in North Lebanon

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” (Galatians 6:10)

The Bible teaches us that we have to do good to all people, whether they are Christians or non-Christians, whether they are enemies, or family. Jesus said:” In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

There is time when we have to do good because our Lord commands us to. We have to do good without expectations. Our Christian love has to be unconditional. We are obeying Jesus when we go search for the people who are in need and help them.

MELM is hitting new grounds finding where the refugee’s camps are, knocking their door to give them a hand of help through food packages. MELM team visited many camps in north Lebanon occupied by conservative Muslim refugees from Syria. We distributed for them the food packages, showing them the love of Christ even though they think that Christians are infidels. But that is the unconditional love Jesus teaches us about, He said : “…do good to those who hate you,  bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. (Luke 6: 27-28)

Therefore we find them welcoming us, smiling for us, thanking us for the food packages and for the care we showed.

Bible Study to Non-Christians

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations… and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28: 19-20)

MELM Bible study sessions to non-Christians are growing. The refugees women are enjoying learning about Jesus, His teachings, His healing, His love, His mercy, His life, His care, His authority on all creation, earth, on the seas when He walked on them and calmed them, on animals when he multiplied the fishes in many miracles. Jesus authority on humans, on evil spirits when He ordered them to leave the body, and on sickness when He healed the sick. Great stories about Jesus go on and on in which they prove that Jesus is Lord and savior. Teaching the word of God is essential to proclaim faith and grow with it. With a lot of questions they ask and a lot of discussion they have got to understand the Word of God and obey it.

Feeding the Refugees in Need in Kfarshima Center

“The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.” (Psalms 145:15-16)

Many of the refugees we reach out through food packages and follow up on them through Christian programs consistently attend the church. By the cooperation with church pastors we visited the church center in Kfarshima, Lebanon, and distributed food packages to the needy refugees who attend the church on weekly basis and whom we have been follow up their spiritual lives for many months.  In the past, many people followed Christ for many reasons. Some of them followed Him to see miracles; others followed Him to be fed after they saw His fish and bread miracle and some others followed Him because they loved Him and loved His teaching. However, in all cases all who followed Him heard the Word of God from His mouth. Nowadays, there might be many refugees attending the church for many reasons, miracles, food, or to listen to the Gospel only. In all cases all of them are getting fed by both, materialistic food, and spiritual food. We pray that all the efforts and the opportunities were put for them to listen to the truth in Jesus Christ that will lead to their salvation and to glorify God through Jesus Christ. Jesus said: “Whoever has ears, let them hear”(Matthew 13: 43)
