Speaking the Word of God Faithfully

“…but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully.” (Jeremiah 23:28)

This Bible verse makes it clear that God commands us to speak His word faithfully to all human kinds; and that what MELM work is all about, to speak God’s word through many different ways to many different people.

MELM visited a school tent in Bikaa valley, where the refugee students were waiting for our program excitedly. The program contained indoor games, a movie “Miracles Maker” and a Bible lesson. We explained to the students about Jesus love, His forgiveness to our sins and how our soul is more important to be healed than our bodies. Jesus is the only Miracles Maker. The students enjoyed the program, discussed, listened carefully to the Word of God and accepted it their heart. They prayed for forgiveness asking Jesus to heal their soul. In addition, they were very happy to get  a Bible story book “Jesus Heals Bartimaeus the Blind” with candies as gifts that we distributed at the end of the program.

MELM Supporting Volunteer Ministry in Syria

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:10-12)

We are all warriors in the Spiritual World.  Our armor of God is not a gun or a bomb or sword, our armor is the Word of God, the Bible in which we fight the devil and his schemes. One of MELM goals is to support and equip anyone who wants to serve Jesus and spread the word of salvation. Therefore, MELM finds it urgent to support Youanis with books. Youanis is one of our good volunteers who randomly visit our MELM office from Syria and stuffs his bag with our Christian books including Bible study books to minister through them to people in Syria. While a cruel war is killing people in Syria another spiritual war is saving souls in the same country. We are blessed by Youanis visit in which he updated us about his ministry in Syria. God is working and saving souls.

Reaching Out to Kids in Sabtieh

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

When churches and congregations hear about MELM ministry programs they ask us for help and support when they are in need to boost their church ministry. Since one of the MELM principals is to support churches, encourage and help build each other Christian faith, our staff is always ready to fulfill a need of the church especially when it aims the reaching out.

“Jesus King of Peace” is a new church located in suburbs of Beirut an area called “Sabtieh” asked our staff for a help to boost their newly start kids ministry. The kids ministry is aiming to reach out to all kids living in Sabtieh area whether they are national, foreigners, or refugees.  We responded to their call and prepared a program that included some Ice breaking, Bible lesson, and a movie show “Puzzle Club Pet- napping Mystery”. The kids and their mothers both enjoyed and happily interacted with the program. “WOW it is the movie book story” the kids shouted happily when they received it as a gift and eagerly asked about the next program date so they can come again.

Bible Study for Refugees’ Women

“But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.  Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9: 36-38)

No doubt that we meet a lot of people daily that are weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Our feelings to them are same as our Master Jesus Christ felt when He met them. He was moved with compassion for them… and that what we feel when we meet these refugees who are burdened with weary and scattered.. MELM has been helping the refugees with food packages, planting the seeds of Christian love by acts and by the Word of God.  Now it is time for harvest and for reaping, therefore,  God has blessed us to start a Bible study sessions to the refugees’ women who are eager to know more about Jesus and learn the Word of God. We prepared a meeting in which we chose the women who are literate and we started with the Bible study book “The Life Jesus Christ” explaining to these Muslim women, who used to know nothing about Jesus, who is Jesus, why He incarnated, died and was raised… The story of salvation will be going on for many sessions till they finish the book and get an accomplishment certificate. Then we start with them another Bible study that feed their knowledge and their spiritual life.

Equipping the Saints Outreach Workshop

One of our MELM goals is to get people involved more in the ministry, and in order to do that, we offer training sessions to those who are interested and ministry hearted. Therefore, MELM prepared an Equipping the Saint conference that was attended by 17 persons who are willing to put their time for serving the Lord among their churches.

The ETS was a one day training conference divided to 5 sessions. First, Christian songs at the beginning, and then followed by two lectures and two group workshops

First session: How we discover our talents given from the Lord and how we can use them in the church and ministry. Second session: the Characteristic of a servant, and how should he act and react to positive and negative issues that might face in the ministry field. In addition, there were two workshops followed the sessions, one about the importance of the outreach and how our main role is to witness and the Holy Spirit is the one who changes lives and lead to salvation. The last session was about Bible study and how important to know well the Word of God and teach it to disciples. The attendees had to study one of our MELM Bible study books so they would be able in their turn to teach it to others.

The ETS program was very beneficial and all the attendees were ready to be volunteers for MELM work when it needs.
