Reaching Out Muslim Refugees’ Students

MELM ministry with refugees is growing and reaching new areas and new camps. We were glad to reach out to new refugees’ students whom their school is a tent set up on fields in Bikaa Valley. God is working among the refugees and we are glad that He is using us to His glory among them.  In the school tent, we had a good time with ice-breaking games, and getting to know each one of them.  Also we showed the students the movie “Puzzle Club Pet -napping Mystery” in which they Learned about the love of God through Jesus Christ, and how our good God loves us although we are full of sins He sent His only son Jesus Christ to save us and give us eternal life. It is what we should do, to love each other same as He loves us and accept each other including our imperfection, same as He accepts us.

The lesson and the movie show were given for two sections, the first to the younger students and the second for the older. They were touched by what they heard and many of them choose to pray asking Jesus for forgiveness and for salvation.

At the end of the program there were a chance for them to have lunch and to get the movie storybook “Puzzle Club Pet -napping Mystery” as gift. They were very happy and thankful. Some of them expressed their gratefulness by going to the fields, picked up some flowers, made them bouquets and gave them to us. There is no heart like a kid who accepts the word of God with happiness.

Jesus said : “Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19: 14)

Holistic Relief To Iraqi refugees

“…And it was distributed to anyone who had need.” (Act 4: 34-35)

Chaldeans are Christians from Iraq whose houses were destroyed and they were dispersed from their country to Lebanon. They lost their homeland which they lived in. Many families lost dear ones and lost properties that were destroyed by ISIS. The Chaldeans used to live in abundance in their county Iraq; after dispersion they are living in poverty and are always in need. They are broken and lost their happy spirit to live. Grief and sadness engulf their lives emotions.

MELM has being there for Iraqis helping with filling their needs by distributing hundreds of food packages to them. From the suburb of Beirut they gathered to take their food packages in Sabitieh center. They were happy and grateful for what they received asking for more support because their need is immense.

School Program For Refugee Kids

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

In a poor area crowded with refugee families’ many of them live in one room apartment. Many of their kids are without schools and many others don’t fit in the school levels. MELM prepares programs to help with a school ministry that was established specially for refugees’ kids who don’t go to regular schools. It was a great opportunity to visit the school center and teach kids Christian songs and give a Bible lesson. The program was divided into two sections; first section, all the kids sing and pray together in a hall. Then the second sections, they go to classes to take their lessons. We had the opportunity to give them a Bible lesson about Esau and Jacob, one of them gave up his blessings to his brother for a plate of food. The lesson was that we should appreciate what God has given us and never disgrace our blessings for the sake of temporary materialistic things. God has given us His only son Jesus Christ to save us; we shouldn’t disgrace His gift of salvation through His son, but accept it with an open faithful heart, and obey His word because He is truthful and His blessings are heavenly and uncountable.

Many of them were touched by the message, and prayed thanking God for his many blessings, understanding that the shortage of food or clothes is not a reason to disgrace God and disobey Him. Afterwards we had some fun time and snacks to share together.

Relief To Syrian Refugees Camps

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1Coranthians 15:58)

A few months ago, we gathered a group of women refugees in their camp in a tent where we shared the Gospel with them. We also listened to their suffering as refugees, and how they live with lack of nutrition, lack of water, and lack of hygiene. They needed food and blankets to save them during the cold winter and freezing snow.

When MELM got support from donors, we prepared food packages and blankets, and then we went to the Bikaa valley where their tents are located and we distributed the packages. In addition to that, we distributed Christmas gifts boxes for the kids. The boxes contained chocolates, sweets and many kinds of candies along with three Bible stories of the “Arch Books” series. The refugees and their kids were very happy and thankful for what they received, and they asked us to come again.

We thank all our generous donors for their gifts, and we thank Carmel mission organization for their blankets donation. God promised with a reward to all who give from their heart with pleasure. Jesus said: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38)
