Reaching out refugees’ Children

The MELM represented by Katia Sahyouni took a part in an evangelizing event reaching out children of the Syrian refugees and kurds. Most of the refugees are from Muslim background. The program included Christian songs, clown, games, and a message from the bible. At the end we distributed to all attendees a bible story “Jesus Heals Blind Bartimous”. The Children and their parents enjoyed the program to the maximum and were very happy to know about Jesus.

Book Exhibition in Dhour el Shoueir camp Center

The MELM represented by Ms. Katia Sahyouni and Mr. Philip Akiki visited the camp center in dhour el shoueir, where she introduced the ministry to the participants and set up a Christian publications exhibition that allowed each of the conference participants, adults and kids, to visit the stand and choose a book that help him/her with nurturing their Christian life and strengthen their faith. People loved the publications, and were happy to find their needs among the materials that we displayed.

Reaching out refugees

Due to the turbulence that is happening in Syria nowadays a lot of Syrian refugees have come to Lebanon including ethnic Kurds. The MELM represented by Miss Katia Sahyouni has been working on a way to reach out these refugees. Most of these refugees are from Muslim background. This week we started a program where we took people from these refugees who accepted Jesus Christ as savior and train them how to reach out their families and specially their kids. With the cooperation with CEF organization MELM is setting that training for 8 Saturdays. We couldn’t provide more pictures due to persecution reason.

Persecution of Christians

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Mathew 5:10)
Our ultimate joy is to see people coming to Christ and become brothers and sisters in Christ. Also, our main sadness is to see our brothers and sisters in Christ suffering and persecuted for their faith. Chaeib Abdel Rahman is one of those who became our brother in Christ but facing persecution since. He wrote to us explaining what he is passing through.
“I don’t know where to start from or how should I start to tell you about my sufferings. I am a young Iraqi guy who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ some time ago, and since that moment my sufferings have started. All my relatives and friends are humiliating and despising me, even my family is treating me as a nasty stranger. From the moment I declared my faith in the Lord Jesus, I started receiving insults every day every time, and so I am left alone grieving and having no strengths to face or to speak with anyone because according to my society I don’t deserve mercy or pity. Sometimes I am giving up from this life and all the doors seem closed for me. Your radio program was a comfort for me and I listen to it regularly to know more about Christ, his suffering and his forgiveness of sins. I am writing to you in the hope of receiving from you what could comfort my solitude and strengthen my faith in the Lord Jesus. I want to ask you to write me back and lift up my spirit.”
As soon as we received Chaieb’s letter we wrote him back encouraging him and strengthening him in Christ. We sent him the Bible correspondence course “Hope of the World” in addition to other publication that helps him stand firm in faith. Chaieb needs our prayers and support.
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Mathew 5: 11-12)
