Life changing story

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. (Mathew 4:4)

“Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” these words came out from Louay, an Iraqi man, who wrote a letter to us expressing his happiness and appreciation to MELM radio program through which he became aware of the only truth, that Jesus is the true bread and His words are life to his soul.

Louay, said: “I was very happy to receive your valuable response letter and to be honest my joy led me to read it several times because it is a mix of spirituality, of care and of honesty.” He goes on, “I want to continue my Bible study so I can grow in faith more and more. There is nothing better than feeding our souls from the word of God. Doing so help us become lights to the world and that light will shine to many people so they come to Christ too”.

Our hearts were filled of happiness when we read Louay’s letter. It was like water that refreshed our souls, and gave us a push to continue ministering with enthusiasm.

We sent Louay many Christian publications including a Bible study “The Hope of the Word”. People like Louay and their letters are best described in the book of Proverbs in the Bible:

“Like cold water to a weary soul  is good news from a distant land”. (Proverbs 25:25)

Text Messages

Almost every single man and women, teen, and child, have always wondered why bad things happen?  Therefore MELM sent 10000 text message informing people about the newly produced booklet “Why Do Bad Things Happen?” The booklet talks about  the pain and the suffering we face in this world and what the purpose and the cause behind them analyzing them  through Christian, Biblical point of view. Many people called and many sent sms asking for the booklet. We pray that this booklet would be an ease to every burdened heart.

Street Outreach

MELM represented by Katia Sahyouni prepared a street outreach to distribute Christian tracts and MELM booklets in the heart of Beirut, in an area that full of many ethnic people and different religious backgrounds. Most of the volunteers were from the ETS participants who had a lot of enthusiasm to serve Jesus Christ through MELM, reach out to people on the street, and spread the word of God and the good news to the hopeless hearts. Even some elderly were energized and went and distributed Christian tracts by putting them on parked cars. The activity was very successful and people were very  happy to get booklets that provide them with a word of peace. MELM was very happy to receive many positive echoes about the street event.

New Production

Many life’s  problems lead to many stress! In the Middle East, the “stress virus” hits all kind of people young,  old child and adult. Therefore, MELM had translated the booklet “Stressed Out but connected”, from English language into Arabic language and got the chance to print it this month. This booklet is very suitable for the present situation in Middle East because it teaches  the reader to embrace God’s best for his or her life. Life’s stresses are many and varied, but by God’s grace and the power of His Holy Spirit they can be managed and overcome. MELM is preparing to inform people about the booklet through text messages and advertisements.
